Ray County Fair
Starts in mid-July at the Ray County Fairgrounds in Richmond. Some of the special events include an Amateur Rodeo, tractor pull, demolition derby, 4-H shows, Farmer Appreciation Dinner and livestock sale. Contact the University Extension Office, 816-776-6961.
Annual Chamber Banquet
With this year being the Chambers’ 50th Annual Banquet and 70th Anniversary of incorporation, there will be a GRAND BALL on Saturday December 1st held at Homeplace at Valleyview with a meal catered by Elements Destination Dining. Holiday Open House
Mid-November. Corrolates with opening weekend of Deer Season. Richmond and Ray County Area. Shops have Christmas Open House, refreshments, drawings and sale prices for Christmas. Chamber Christmas Tree Extravaganza
The Chamber provides trees and wreaths to be decorated in themes and sponsored by local businesses. They are displayed from the 2nd weekend of November through the 1st Thursday in December at the Chamber office. A drawing is held for these beautiful works of art after the Community Tree and Square lighting ceremony, starting at 6 p.m. Contact Chamber at 816-776-6916 for additional information.
Christmas Light Parade
Always the 1st Thursday in December, the Chamber partners with Richmond’s Downtown District and the City of Richmond to assemble a Christmas Light Parade and Lighting of the Square.
